Lambert's Castle Hill photo

Lambert's Castle (Fort)

The earthwork of Lambert's Castle lies to the north of the high point of Lambert's Castle Hill; the site is owned by the National Trust. Seen here is the southern end of the earthwork, looking to the east. The sandbagging and fencing are/were presumably temporary conservation measures. The gap in the rampart is used as a public footpath.
