Callaw Cairn photo

Callaw Cairn in the Cheviot Hills

At 507m, this well built and prominent cairn visible for many miles, provides a fine vantage point from which to enjoy views of the Eastern Cheviots. The origins of the cairn appear to be lost, though it is very likely to be the burial place of chieftains from the many Iron Age settlements and forts in the vicinity.
